Carl’s story in full

Diagnosed with Young-Onset Parkinson’s Disease at 51, leading charity activist and founder, Carl Beech began to experience slurring, and a rapidly worsening stammer. Faced with the loss of speech, he nearly gave up hope.

Experimenting with a therapeutic tapping technique, he had a personal breakthrough – rhythmic tapping allowed him to regulate his speech and relieved his stammer. So, what if this could be turned into a wearable that could benefit more people more easily?

With the help of a tech software expert and friend, Nick Whiteley, the first prototype was ready for testing withing 48 hours. Miraculously, it worked!

But it doesn’t stop there. Because the more people that tried BeechBand, the more benefits were discovered. We started to find that it wasn’t just capable of relieving Carl’s Parkinson’s symptoms, but many other life-altering symptoms as well.

From that moment on we’ve been focused on producing the BeechBand at scale, for an affordable price point. For us, this isn’t about selling products, we’re here to help in any way we can.

“When it came to discovering the BeechBand, one of my principles was that I wanted it accessible for everyone. A level playing field. We could produce something that looks amazing and is super high-tech, but it just puts it out of the reach of people who need it. So, we’re creating one simple product. It’s people before profit. Helping those who need it most.”

Which is why 25% of our profits will always go to neurological-linked charities and research.

We know BeechBand won’t be right for everyone, but this is just the beginning. We’re looking into other ways we can use technology to relieve more symptoms and bring more people like Carl, more better days.
