Recycling
When I’m done with it, can I recycle my BeechBand?
Yes, please do! Recycling your old electricals is really important for the environment and a lot easier than you might think. So please, don’t just bin it.
It’s free!
It costs nothing to recycle your electrical and electronic devices at your local recycling centre. Type your postcode in at Recycle More to find your nearest.
It’s the right thing to do
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Yet, many items could be repaired or recycled to save natural resources and protect the environment. We’re proud to support your local authority providing recycling facilities for electrical equipment.
It’s dangerous not to
Old electrical gadgets that aren’t recycled end up in landfill where they will leak hazardous substances that can be harmful to local wildlife and maybe even humans.
To remind you that your BeechBand can be recycled, it is marked with the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with this symbol) in your bin.
It’s not just us; it’s a UK-wide scheme
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of electrical items.
How are we helping?
As members of the national Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS) we’re financially supporting WEEE recycling centres nationwide.
In the UK, distributors including retailers like us must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible retailer, we have met the requirements placed on us. We hope you’ll do your bit too!
