Original BeechBand instructions

Welcome to the BeechBand community!

The BeechBand was born from Carl’s personal experience of Parkinson’s, and we hope it can help you too. To get the most out of your device, please read through all of these instructions carefully before using it.

Important Note: The BeechBand is a wellness device, not a medical device. We advise you to seek medical advice before using your BeechBand if you have any concerns or are using a medical device, such as a pacemaker, or have had DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation).

Charging the BeechBand

Your BeechBand has a non-removable, rechargeable battery. You can charge it using a standard USB-C cable connected to the port on the side of the case. Before using your BeechBand for the first time, it is essential to charge it fully. Here’s how to charge your device:

  • If you are wearing it, take off the device.
  • Attach a USB-C charging cable (not supplied) to the charging port on the side.
  • Plug the other end of the cable into a USB power source (like a USB plug or socket).
  • Make sure your BeechBand is switched off whilst charging.
  • Allow the device to charge for 45 minutes. Once charged, remove the cable before putting your BeechBand on.

Wearing the BeechBand

You can wear your BeechBand just like a wristwatch, on either wrist. We suggest you try each wrist to see which one gives you the best results. Adjust the strap so it fits snugly but comfortably – it should lie flat on your wrist without causing any discomfort.

Turning Your BeechBand On and Off

We recommend attaching your BeechBand to your wrist before turning it on.

  • To turn it on, press the On/Off button on the side of the case once. Your BeechBand should start vibrating immediately and will continue until you turn it off or the battery runs out.
  • To turn it off, press the On/Off button again. Your BeechBand should stop vibrating immediately.

Warning

Please pay close attention to these warnings to ensure your safety and the proper functioning of your BeechBand:

  • The BeechBand is not splash-resistant or waterproof, and caution should be taken to avoid exposure to water or other liquids. Always remove your BeechBand before showering, bathing and swimming. Only clean your BeechBand with a dry cloth.
  • Do not expose your BeechBand to temperatures over 40°C (104°F) or under -5°C (23°F).
  • While wearing your BeechBand, do not operate any machinery or perform any activities that could put you or others in danger if your BeechBand suddenly stops working, for example if the battery runs out.
  • Do not attempt to charge your BeechBand if you think that water has entered the case.
  • For safe and optimal performance, always use a certified safe USB cable and plug to charge your device.
  • After turning off your BeechBand, you may experience an instant return of any symptoms that were relieved whilst wearing, and they could even be more pronounced for a short while.
  • Do not disassemble, modify, remanufacture, puncture or damage the device or its battery.
  • Do not remove or attempt to remove the battery, as it is not user replaceable.

Troubleshooting

If you run into any issues with your BeechBand, try these troubleshooting steps:

  • If your BeechBand isn’t turning on or stops vibrating mid-use: It is likely the battery has run out. Please charge your BeechBand as explained in these instructions.
  • If your BeechBand runs out of battery and later vibrates briefly on its own: This usually means the battery has recovered enough for a small charge. Please switch off your BeechBand and charge it.
  • If your BeechBand’s vibration changes (for example slows down or changes to a continuous vibration instead of pulses): This usually means the battery is about to run out. Please switch off your BeechBand and charge it.
  • If your BeechBand still doesn't turn on after charging attempts: Check your USB cable and power source. Try an alternative cable or power source. If it still doesn't switch on, please contact BeechBand customer support.
  • If you have trouble turning your BeechBand on or off: Press and hold the On/Off button for about a second.

Customer Support

Your BeechBand comes with a 6-month warranty covering defects in material and workmanship, under normal use, from the date of purchase. It does not cover damages resulting from accident, misuse (including exposure to liquids, as the BeechBand is not splash-resistant or waterproof), or modification. Within this period, you can return a faulty BeechBand for a replacement or full refund.

Additionally, if you feel the product doesn’t deliver the benefits you expected, you can return it within 100 days for a full, “quibble-free” refund, provided it is in a like-new condition. Before initiating a return, we encourage you to watch the helpful videos on our website www.beechband.com that demonstrate how to make the most of your device and unlock its full potential.

User tips: a few other things to note

tick

Ignore the device

It’s easier said than done, but the best thing to do is put it on and forget about it (it should happen naturally 15-30 minutes in)

tick

Involve friends and family

Others often spot the positive effects first, so keep people around to get their feedback too

tick

It’s different for everyone

Just as we’re all individuals, the effects will vary from person to person: for some there will be a big change, instantly, for others the impact might show up in a different area than expected or come on gradually

tick

Give it at least six weeks

The BeechBand may not be the perfect solution for everyone, but we suggest using it consistently for at least six weeks to see if you notice any changes.

tick

Wearing your band differently

In our experience, adjusting the placement of the device, like switching wrists or wearing it on your ankle, can sometimes make a difference in the results.
